Downtime Ministries is a Christ-centered, faith-based, non-profit, non-denominational ministry created to provide and promote human development through life skill training and mentoring within the means of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The human development will assist underprivileged youth, combat community deterioration and juvenile delinquency. The target population consists of adolescents who are in need of adequate mentoring and life skill training within religious networks.
Mentoring efforts will be directed toward developing
survival skills, teamwork and character building using our favorite
sports, fishing and hunting. While much can be learned in a church
setting, members of the clergy often need a less formal environment for
“hands on” influence. Each individual needs to learn motivation,
perseverance and resiliency. These efforts will focus on hunting and
fishing. Fishing is suitable for all children, adolescents and adults.
In 2009, Downtime Ministries focused on outreach and networking with the
religious community. In 2011-2012 we will be providing on-site
orientation to church leaders and will begin the human development
process.
Downtime Ministries is our way of supporting our local community, becoming a partner with them in their battle and interceding for them with prayer and heart-warming hospitality. This ministry, inspired by God through Captain Mike Eberstein and Win Matteson, operates as a charitable 501(C)3 corporation, supported by tax-deductible donations. Support from local churches and organizations, no matter what the denomination is welcomed.
